Understanding Temperaments: Marriage & Parenting

Have you ever considered the temperaments or taken a temperament test?

Temperaments are proto-psychological types that influence us on a subconscious level. The various strengths and weaknesses of our temperament is the underlying reason we experience the world the way we do, why we behave the way we do and tend to repeat those patterns of behavior. The Four Temperaments were realized by the ancient Greek physician and philosopher Hippocrates, who labeled them as: Choleric, Melancholic, Sanguine and Phlegmatic.

How to Raise a Responsible Child

This online family workshop will feature a 50-minute video (we will email you a follow along handout) followed by a brief presentation and question/answer session.

How to Raise a Responsible Child is a terrific lesson for parents and their children 6yrs old on up attend together! Originally presented back in the ’90s, this old school presentation has timeless wisdom and proven advice for the whole family.

The goal of this workshop will show parents how to pass on to our children a sense of behavioral ownership and a self-generated sense of responsibility. Parents own all behaviors until the child is both intellectually ready and physically capable of taking ownership. We should be moving toward using our authority less and less as our children grow older and wiser.

Mealtime Manners & Behavior

Mealtime Manners & Behavior is a fun lesson for both Parents and Children.  This presentation from the Parenting from The Tree of Life series, will cover basic etiquette and civilities for mealtime.

There is no other training context within moral education that is as compact and saturated with a call to self-control and otherness-sensitivity than which flows from mealtime. Embedded within mealtime etiquette are otherness virtues that intuitively resonate with people.

Parents set the standard in the home for the application of mealtime courtesies.  Our children need to know what manners are expected at all other venues, including formal dining situations.
