Shawn and I were beginning to feel desperate. Disagreements with each other were becoming more frequent and our kids’ behaviors were spiraling out of control as a result. We couldn’t seem to get on the same page when it came to parenting tactics, and truthfully, neither of us had a clue what we were doing. Differing, and often unspoken expectations about the way we were brought up and therefore the way we should be parenting seemed bigger than something we could tackle on our own.
With a five and three year old at the time, we had children in various stages of development. That’s when we first saw a notice about a class on parenting. Signing up was the best choice we have ever made for our family. Attending classes with OneFamily gave us a relaxed, safe space to get on the same page. We were deeply challenged and encouraged by the mentor couple who had been further down the road. The dynamic of working through each issue with other couples in the class helped us see we were not alone; other families were struggling as well. I know that each family took away something different from their experience with OneFamily, yet each were profoundly impacted. The designated time we invested in class and at home shaped an identity for our family that will impact not only our kids and our marriage, but our legacy for generations to come.
Thankfully, we continue to grow in our marriage and parenting with the encouraging and sustaining support from OneFamily. We appreciate the daily and weekly e-content as well as their workshops and events. Applying biblical foundations and truths of parenting in a modern context is what OneFamily does better than any other.
On this Colorado Giving Day, please join us and consider giving to OneFamily. Your donation will go directly to equip, encourage, and sustain families. Help change the trajectory of families who feel lost, desperate, and lonely in their parenting journey, like we did, with your generous donation!
